Mülleimer SS (English)

Was one of The Happy Gravedigger's solo projects. Several recordings from 1979 through 1981 were used for some of our tape productions. The most famous of them still is "Never Mind The Schraubstocks" (schraubstock = bench vice), a worker's innuendo regarding the well known (intellectual) Sex Pistols LP. Mülleimer SS never was fixed to a specific style, but could not hide its punk roots, even if synthesizer sounds dominated a song. All instruments, bass, several guitars, a Korg MS20 synthesizer, a Roland rhythm machine and a real drumkit - except a short whistle intermezzo by Jeff Stress - were played (or programmed) by The Happy Gravedigger.

The name Mülleimer SS (mülleimer = trash can) should be self-explanatory.

For those who have problems to follow this thought: Organisations like the SS belong to the garbage piles of History.
